one deadly sin annie solomonRomantic suspense writer Annie Solomon hits the ball out the park with this latest thriller romance. The interesting plot coupled with a well paced narrative will make you want to finish the book in one sitting.

Edie Swan hails from a small town, Redbud and heads back to it to solve the mystery that tore apart her family – her father’s death. Edie has revenge on her mind because before dying her aunt gave her a list of the people suspected of having a hand in her father’s tragic end. Unfortunately for Edie, soon after she arrives in town several of the individuals begin dying. Edie soon becomes the prime murder suspect and the townspeople soon turn against her. But Edie has a bigger concern – will she become the next victim of the serial killer?

Throughout all of this turmoil Edie meets hunky local lawman Holt Drennen who (for the time being) takes her mind off the killings. As Holt’s feelings for Edie grow so do his suspicions of her being involved in the deaths of the townspeople.

Edie is a study in contrasts: although she wears leather, has numerous tattoos and rides a Harley, she’s actually a fairly fragile and caring person. Solomon does a great job introducing us to Edie’s internal fears and insecurities. We actually root for her as she attempts to let go of the past and build a better future for herself.

Solomon successfully combines a romantic storyline with spine-tingling crime scene. Don’t get me wrong, this is definitely a romance book, but the sex is tempered with a great thriller plot. The romance and mystery taken add up to a truly page turning read. The book becomes particularly engrossing as we wait to see who’s trying to keep the past from being exposed.

The mystery and intrigue in the book last until the very end of the book as we try to guess who’s responsible for the murders. One Deadly Sin is thoroughly engrossing and Solomon does a fantastic job combining suspense and humor into the storyline. Overall this was a great read that romance book lovers will definitely enjoy.

Coraline went exploring one day . . .

Her family has just moved to a completely new town, and so Coraline already feels a bit strange. In her new house there is one door that opens onto a brick wall. At least, it does until one day the bricks are gone and Coraline finds herself stepping over the threshold into another house . . . a house that’s just like hers.

At first things appear marvelous in this other house. The food is better. The toy box is filled with windup angels that flutter about, books whose pictures crawl and shimmer, and little dinosaur skulls that chatter their teeth. But there’s another mother and another father—and they want Coraline to be their little girl and stay with them forever. They want to change her and never let her go.

Other children are also trapped, as lost souls behind a mirror, and Coraline is their only hope. She will have to find a way to meet the other mother’s challenge in order to save the lost children, her ordinary life, and herself.
