Sea Lord by Virginia Kantra
Best selling author Virginia Kantra’s Sea Lord book has been much awaited – and I’m happy to report that the wait has been well worth it. The last in the Children of the Sea trilogy, Sea Lord is an absolutely sensual and savory paranormal romance book.
Sea Witch, the first of the series took us to this amazing paranormal world where humans, selkies and demons (immortal children of the sea and fire respectively) try to strike a balance together. When demons started killing humans at the World’s End which is an island near Maine, the world’s balance was attacked.
With Sea Fever, the second book in the series, readers were introduced to a prophecy that could change the world’s balance of power permanently.
In Sea Lord, the final book in the trilogy, demons have struck at both the Selkies and the humans in order to gain supremacy and power. The book is about Lucy Hunter, a shy school teacher and Conn, a sexy and suave Selkie prince. Lucy grew up with an alcoholic father and as such has become a loner. Little does she know that she has earth shattering magic and power. It’s not until she meets Conn and slowly begins to fall in love and show more of her deep seated emotions that her magic comes to the surface.
Handsome and arrogant about his magic Conn sees Lucy in a vision as the only one to help re-populate his kind. Despite her being human he sets out to bring her back with him. Though he assumes he won’t be attracted to her and after all, Selkies don’t care much for emotional entanglements, he undertakes this mission in order to save his people. However, everything changes with their first touch . . .
The lush writing, beautiful narrative and smoldering passion makes for a fantastic read. Kantra is skillful not only in transporting you to a new and sometimes frightening magical world but she also does a wonderful job taking us into the minds and hearts of the characters. Sea Lord is a wonderfully gratifying paranormal romance. Check prices
